Our Impact

SINCE WE BEGAN WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE

  • Amplified the voices of people living with disabilities by bringing attention to important issues such as social discrimination through media and mass communications. Our overall cultural consciousness on how we treat and interact with disability needs to change, beginning in elementary schools. We need to celebrate our peers for their differences. If this is taught at a young age, less discrimination and more social inclusion will occur. Having kids with and without disabilities learning side-by-side helps everybody appreciate the talents and gifts all kids bring with them. As a society, we have the responsibility to promote the inclusion of our differences.
  •
  • Worked with local government health authorities to extend our efforts in accessing better health services to communities in central and eastern Uganda. In partnership with Mukono District Health Authorities,@RuhanaAfrica and @musasekamatte we organised a successful COVID-19 vaccination acceleration campaign in Mukono District. Get vaccinated today and encourage your family & friends to get vaccinated too.
  •
  • Brought together a network of hundreds of youths and women, especially single mothers to find positive ways to use their time and talents to create employment opportunities and earn a living. We have achieved this through organizing workshops teaching them practical skills like hand weaving and knitting for the women, so they can sustain themselves socially and economically.
  •
  • Launched ground-breaking reports calling for structural change to ensure the rights of children especially education and health. More than 50 Orphans and Vulnerable Children have been supported and cared for through our Orphan Care and Support (OCS) program.
  •
  • Collaborated and added our voice with other organizations who share the same mission as we do to create vital coalitions and partnerships, including the Run4Women campaign to raise awareness on gender equality for women on the International Women’s Day celebrations in Kampala.

Together, we create a lasting change for vulnerable families in our communities.

THE IMPACT OF RAUA

The Organization is an energized initiative that was founded to share and resolve the grief of the people in need. We have a realizable goal of counter-attacking poverty, illiteracy, stigma, hunger, inadequacy, illness in local communities of Kampala and Uganda at large. We believe that through our different projects and donations the disadvantaged can smile again.
