Joan Nabwire a mother of three and women economic empowerment

Joan Nabwire is a 35 year old business woman in Nakifuma in Mukono District. She runs a small retail shop in the community.  She is a single mother of three children, whose spouse passed away during the recent COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

She received formal entreprenual skills training and direct financial aid through our single mothers Program. Thereafter, she was able to invest in her retail business. Before joining RAUA, she struggled with looking after her children, raising school fees and other basic requirements.

“I thank Ruhana Ainebyona Unity Africa for bringing back hope in my life. I have three children without their father didn’t know how to take care of them. A friend told me about this organization, I told them all my concerns.

They took me in, started to learn several skills under my business aspirations. I now own a retail shop and the future looks bright. I thank God for this initiative”

Joan is no longer worried about school fees to send her three children to school, and is able to provide for other basic requirements such as food and clothing. The impact of RAUA has given her children hope and enabled her self sustenance economically.
